What Happens On Your First Visit?

We need to gather all the information about you in order to make a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. These include medical history, dental history, your main concern, a minimum of a panoramic x-ray and a few single x-rays.

It is a great idea to print out your health history and fill it out prior to appointment. That way, you can shorten your visit.

For a new patient, who needs a check-up, we offer the following services:

- Oral Cancer Screening using Vel-Scope equipment

- Soft Tissue Exam

- Hard Tissue Exam

- Cleaning with Fluoride Varnish (last up to 6mo)

HEALTH HISTORY FORM - X-RAY:

So, the first step is filling out the health history, then you will have some x-rays taken and the dental assistant will escort you to the examination room. The assistant will ask you a few questions regarding your dental health.

EXAMINATION:

Digital virtual charting allows the doctor to access your health history and x-ray from her computer. No waiting for an x-ray to get processed. She will then enter the room to perform a visual oral examination.

The doctor will call out the tooth number and ask the assistant to document in your chart (on the computer screen).

 - If it is a simple case, the doctor will make a diagnosis and treatment plan on the same day.

 - If it is a complex case, we will need an intra-oral photograph and diagnostic cast (a model of your teeth) to make a proper diagnosis. Then you will come back for a treatment plan options.

The doctor will go over the x-ray and treatment plan with you. We will help you choose the best treatment option within your budget. Our goal is to help you achieve optimum oral health and maintain it for life.
